Empowering Future Innovators: SBS and Marian Technology Incubator Collaboration

On 17th October, SBS welcomed representatives from the Marian Technology Business Incubator, based in Davao City, Philippines, for a productive sharing session focused on student training and entrepreneurship development. The discussion provided valuable insights into SBS’s approach to education and showcased opportunities for collaboration. The session was facilitated by Freya Uyen, International Program Assistant, and TJ Phan, Student Services Manager, who provided insightful overviews of SBS’s programmes and initiatives.
The Marian Technology Business Incubator (TBI) is a DOST-funded initiative located at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) – Bonifacio Campus in Davao City. As a catalyst for innovation in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for healthcare, MARIAN TBI empowers university-based startups to transform their ideas into impactful solutions. It supports promising startups focused on patient engagement, care management, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring by providing comprehensive resources, including mentorship, capacity-building initiatives, legal assistance, co-working spaces, reliable internet access, and access to advanced laboratories and facilities.
SBS showcased its dynamic internship program, offering industry-based learning, expert mentorship, and student services to prepare students for the workforce. The study tour program was also highlighted, providing real-world exposure through excursions and company visits, which enhances students’ learning by applying classroom knowledge in diverse settings.
SBS also shared its commitment to excellence through partnerships with top universities worldwide. These collaborations enable students to benefit from a global network of academic expertise and provide access to high-quality learning experiences.
The Marian Technology Business Incubator team expressed strong interest in understanding how SBS integrates business knowledge into its curriculum. They aim to adopt similar strategies to empower young entrepreneurs and foster business innovation within their incubator programs.
