SBS at the P2A Annual General Meeting 2024

Saigon Business School (SBS) proudly participated in the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Annual General Meeting, held from 4th December to 7th December, 2024, in Manila, Philippines. Represented by Freya Uyen, our Student Mobility Manager, the event gathered institutions from across the ASEAN region to discuss advancements in education, mobility, and collaboration. 

Event Overview

Day 1 -> 5th December 2024

The day began with a warm welcome as guests arrived for a networking coffee session. The P2A General Meeting followed, where key discussions included:

  • Presentation of the Annual P2A Report and Financial Report 2024
  • Country Chapter updates and welcoming of new member institutions

In the afternoon, participants attended a series of workshops designed to inspire innovation:

  • Workshop 1: Enhancing Student Mobility and Transnational Education
    • Launch of Mobility 2025
    • Discussion on improving mobility program quality management
  • Workshop 2: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Higher Education
    • Launch of the AI Higher Education Council, a platform for sharing AI-driven strategies
    • Introduction of the SkillsFuture Center to help students enhance employability in an AI-driven world
  • Workshop 3: ASEAN Research Network
    • Launch of a P2A research journal
    • Announcement of roundtable discussions on Free Trade Agreements, hosted by P2A and DTU, with sessions planned in Vietnam (2025), Indonesia (2026), and Korea (2027)

Memorandum of Understanding Signing: 

A highlight was the signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the P2A Research Network. This significant event took place at SEAMEO Innotech, Quezon City, furthering Saigon Business School’s commitment to collaborative research and innovation.

The day concluded with a Committee Meeting, which reviewed outcomes and set future goals, followed by a delightful Gala and Networking Dinner.

 


Day 2 -> 6th December 2024 

The second day took place at Rizal Technological University, beginning with a celebratory Opening Ceremony, which included cultural performances and a welcome speech by Dr. Ma Eugenia M. Yangco, President of RTU.

The agenda featured the P2A Partner’s Internal Meeting, with discussions on:

  • Annual reports and updates
  • Planning for future initiatives and introducing new members

The day ended with engaging in Networking Discussions and Site visits and a City Tour of Metro Manila, offering participants a chance to explore the city and its culture.

 


Day 3 -> 7th December 2024 (Departure Day) 

The final day marked the departure of attendees after three days of meaningful connections, workshops, and planning for the future of education in the ASEAN region.
