SBS PROUDLY WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO THE OPENING OF THE 2025 SEMESTER!

 On January 11, Saigon Business School (SBS) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony for the Spring 2025 academic term. This semester, SBS proudly welcomed 34 new students from Vietnam, France, Finland, Nepal, Myanmar, Cameroon, and Nigeria, raising the proportion of international students at SBS to 60%—establishing one of Vietnam's most diverse and vibrant international student communities. The event honored the presence of distinguished faculty members and representatives from strategic partners, including world-class universities ranked in the top 1% globally such as Macquarie University and Deakin University (Australia), the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), EQUest Education Organization, and various corporate partners of SBS. 

In a warm, energetic, and multicultural atmosphere, the ceremony marked a promising start to the new term while highlighting the exceptional value SBS provides to a student body representing over 10 different nationalities.

To date, SBS boasts a student community from over 10 countries, including France, Finland, Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, and more. With international students making up more than 60% of the total, SBS offers a multicultural academic environment with 100% English communication, empowering students to integrate confidently while learning from one another. 

In his opening remarks, Mr. Hoang Van Cuong, Chief Executive Officer of SBS, shared: “At SBS, we believe diversity is the foundation of growth and innovation. Coming from various nations, you have chosen to embark on a journey that not only expands academic knowledge but also shapes you into global citizens. You’ve come here from different parts of the world, and from here, you will go everywhere.”

New students were introduced to SBS’s academic environment through a variety of engaging Orientation Week activities, such as Vietnamese culture-sharing sessions, city tours, personal branding workshops, a mini-fair on study-abroad and career guidance, and more. These activities equipped students with valuable tools for a successful start to the new term.

Janne Kosonen, a student from Finland, expressed his emotions after attending the ceremony: “Today, I attended the opening ceremony at SBS—a meaningful and solemn event. We listened to inspiring speeches and sang We Are the Worldtogether. It was truly a memorable and emotional experience. I made many new friends, most of whom are from Myanmar, and joined the badminton club. Studying at Saigon Business School is the best and most remarkable decision of my life.”

SBS proudly serves as a strong stepping stone for students to achieve their study-abroad goals at universities ranked in the top 1% globally, such as Deakin University (Australia), Macquarie University (Australia), and the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), with flexible and suitable transfer pathways.

During Spring 2025 Orientation Week, students received insights into their study plans and the unique characteristics of each major(Business Administration, Hotel Management, Data Science) to prepare for academic success at SBS and partner institutions. 

May Hbone Kyaw, a student from Myanmar, was honored with the Excellence Scholarship,
presented by Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc Dao, Deputy Director of SBS.

At the Opening Ceremony, May Hbone Kyaw Study Data Sciencewas honored with the Excellence Scholarship for Fall 2024 students. This award recognizes the student’s personal achievements and exemplifies the success of international students within the SBS community.
