Each speaker shared their journey, highlighting the transformational impact of SHMS on their career and personal development. From navigating campus transitions to thriving in international internships, their stories shed light on how SHMS equips students with the skills, confidence, and global connections needed to excel in the hospitality industry.

He also shed light on SHMS’s biannual international recruitment forums, where students connect with top industry employers, and its unique selling point—strategic partnerships that pave the way for career success.
Mrs. Phuong Chu followed with reflections on the transformative journey at SHMS. She described the shift from the Caux Campus’s learning-focused environment, where students adapt and familiarise themselves with the basics, to the Leysin Campus’s goal-oriented atmosphere, where they refine their focus and pursue their passions with clarity. She emphasized how SHMS helps students transition from exploring possibilities to achieving clarity in their ambitions, fostering confidence and purpose. Additionally, she introduced her company, Laurel Consult, which specialises in providing personalised education guidance and mentorship. She encouraged students to reach out for support in navigating their academic and career pathways, particularly those considering international education opportunities.
Ms. Chloe Nguyen recounted her diverse internships in housekeeping, fine dining supervision, and events and sales management at Hyatt. She spoke about how SHMS’s focus on leadership and accountability enabled her to excel and return to Vietnam with a vision to contribute to the hospitality industry. She expressed gratitude for the experiences and connections that shaped her career and where she is today.
Mrs. Quincy Pham, a recent SHMS alumni, shared her remarkable journey through international internships that shaped her professional path. Her experiences included working at a Michelin Star Restaurant at the Ritz Carlton in Spain and doing an exchange program in New York City, which she described as a life-changing decision. These opportunities allowed her to grow personally and professionally while exploring the world.
From personal growth and professional opportunities to global exposure and industry connections, the speakers showcased how SHMS prepares its students to thrive and lead in the dynamic hospitality industry. The event not only inspired attendees with real-life success stories but also reinforced the value of determination, adaptability, and a clear vision for the future.
